Dayton, Ohio funk band best known for a run of hit singles in the mid-1970s and album covers that generated about as much conversation as the music — first on Westbound, then Mercury. The rhythm section work holds up better than the covers’ reputation suggests.

Of note: original Westbound pressings are the harder find here; the Mercury-era albums are the ones most collectors start with.
